Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants should meet the following criteria.
- Members of the Young Leaders Network
Current or former recipient of one of the following awards:
- Asia New Zealand Singapore Scholarship
- Asia New Zealand David Holborow Scholarship
- NZ Japan Young People’s Exchange Programme
- Asia:NZ/NZASIA Postgraduate Research Awards
- Royal Society grant for science programmes in Asia
- Other Asia:NZ award supporting study visits to Asia
- Confucius Institute China Scholarship
Current or former recipients of one of the following NZAID awards:
- Study Award
- Commonwealth
- Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme
- NZDS Public
- NZDS Open
Current or former recipients of Ministry of Education scholarships:
- New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarship (NZIDRS)
- New Zealand International Undergraduate Fees Scholarship (NZIUFS)
Other conditions
Applicants holding NZAID or Ministry of Education scholarships must be citizens of one of the following: Bangladesh; Brunei; Burma; Cambodia; China; India; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Laos; Malaysia; Mongolia; Pakistan; Philippines; Singapore; Sri Lanka; Taiwan; Thailand; or Viet Nam.
Recent graduates must have completed their scholarship since 2002.
All applicants must be aged between 20-35 years old as of November 2008 to be eligible to apply.
Ten places will be open for non-Young Leaders Network members.
Applicants who have not received a scholarship, but can demonstrate a commitment to New Zealand-Asia relations, will be considered.
