Benefits of the Forum
The Forum is all about leadership, participation, cross-cultural understanding and enduring relationships. The success of the Forum will depend on the active involvement of every participant.
People selected to participate in the programme can expect to come away with:
- A deeper understanding of New Zealand and its relationships and connections with Asian partners
- A range of business, government and community contacts
- Improved leadership and public speaking skills
- Relationships with fellow young leaders from around New Zealand and the Asian region
- A prestigious entry for their resume
- Access to future networking events and activities, in New Zealand and Asia through the Young Leaders Network.

What are my responsibilities if I’m selected to participate?
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Sign a letter of commitment to abide by the regulations under which Asia:NZ is operating the Forum
- Actively participate in all activities during the Forum
- Take part in media coverage of the Forum as requested
- Provide a written report at the end of the Forum
- Assist in the promotion of future Forums as requested
- Attend future Asia:NZ and Young Leaders Network events as invited
- Wherever possible, contribute to the further development of the Forum and the Young Leaders Network
In short, Forum participants are expected to become active members of a network that will expand and develop over months and years. Asia:NZ aims to offer the Forum annually, with participants in each subsequent year joining the network.
Only people who are enthusiastic about being part of such a network, spanning New Zealand and the countries of Asia, should apply for a place.
